Books, Children, and Nature…what else do you need? Maybe some adventure!
Pamela Evans believes children’s books open up a world of adventure, learning, and joy. An avid fantasy reader, Pamela writes tales for all ages, with a passion for stories that combine a child’s thirst for adventure with their curiosity about the natural world. She is currently seeking representation for her middle grade novels, and is co-writing an early reading chapter book series, with acclaimed children’s book author Marc Boston.
She is a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and runs the SCBWI Mid-Atlantic co-writing group and various other writer groups. She is a member of the Virginia Writer’s Club (VWC) and has poetry and short stories published in the VWC Blue Ridge Chapter journals.
As an award-winning educator, early childhood specialist, and school director, Pamela has developed and taught many Children’s Educational programs. She is an advocate for strong Play-Based curricula and Environmental Education. Pamela works as a consultant focusing on preschool education and music programs centering on young families. Working as an educator with children from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds has a powerful influence on Pam’s writing. Her background in the arts and education includes work at Carnegie Hall, Disney World, The American Symphony Orchestra League, and Equity Library Theatre-NYC.
When she’s not writing or wrangling a writer event, Pam is singing with children, playing her alto clarinet, or taking in the amazing natural world around us.
