If your child is in preschool, this year may be your first time making valentines for a large group of friends.  Best advice? Make it fun and simple.  Here are a few ideas.
Valentines don’t need to be fancy. Simply cut our a few hearts. Your child can draw on them or put on stickers. At our preschool we remind parents not to expect children to write their name on a lot of cards. Let’s not turn this fun activity into a stressful time. If your child is writing their name, maybe they want to sign a few special valentines. It's nice to know who the valentine is from (so you can sign your child's name), but there is no need to put who it's to...just have enough for each child in the class.
I like to put out paper and colorful paints. After the paintings are dry just cut them into hearts and sign. The valentines are simple, homemade, and fun.
One family I know has their children each make one special card. They put out all the art supplies and each child makes one fancy card. Then Dad makes photocopies of it for each child in the class!
Keep it simple and fun. Happy Valentine’s Day!
