As the temperature drops children need hats, mittens, scarves, and coats. Those items are easily lost at school or at the park. The small items are easy to lose, but you might be surprised – many children don’t recognize their coat especially if it’s similar to another child’s at school. There is no substitute for labeling your child's cold weather gear. Unlabeled clothes can leave parents, teachers, and children in a dither searching the school and other children’s bags!

Here is a great site for almost any kind of label you can think of:

Some parents like to have their own label maker, something like:

Frankly a couple thin sharpies will usually do the job. You need one black marker and one silver marker to cover most items. Make life easier for you child, yourself, and your child’s teachers. Most importantly, let’s make sure winter items go home with the right child.
