For lovers of adventure, young and old, this Norse quest takes place in Minneapolis. After all, the Vikings have been in the Americas since at least the year 999AD.

Twelve-year-old Abby Beckett is attacked in her home in North Carolina by something dark and vicious—something that took the life of her mother years ago. This sets Abby and her father on a frantic trip North. They arrive at Vale Hall, a school in Minneapolis that also plays host to the Viking Council. An attack leaves Abby’s father in a coma. Abby needs to find out what is happening in order to save her father and herself. She won’t do it alone. Two new friends from Vale Hall join her on her quest.
