Once in a while I review an oldie but goodie and that’s a good way to describe Ira Sleeps Over. Young children related to this book right away. It doesn’t even have to be your first sleep over to be a little scary.

What if you’re big sister says your friend will laugh if you bring your teddy bear along? Well, if you haven’t read this classic, you’ll have to see how that plays out. No spoilers here!

A lovely simple tale of friendship, family, and normal anxiety. A great book to read to young children, this story also works well for slightly older children who can already read, for developing vocabulary.
